Probably too heavy and powerful for a beginner bike, but depends on the rider. Top speed is about 115-120 mph without the luggage. Engine is that classic Triumph triple design. Riding position is standard and neutral-not crouched over or splayed out. The Thunderbirds are known for reliability, comfort, looks, and street performance. Horn is rather quiet and I'd recommend replacing with something louder. I added a center stand for convenient maintenance and a custom-fabricated powder-coated luggage rack for two big hard panniers and a luggage rack. I just had the oil and coolant changed, valves adjusted, plugs changed, and carbs cleaned.
